At the recent Australian Permaculture Convergence in Kaurna Country, Adelaide, David Holmgren, permaculture co-originator, gave a presentation to honour the legacy of his friend and colleague, Dan Palmer (1974-2022).
Big thanks to Lizzy at WorkSmith for putting this video together.

Thank you David.
Thank you – loved watching this and further deepening my understanding of Dan and his many contributions to making this world more beautiful. Excited for the film release. Much love xx
Thank you for sharing this, Mel.
Dan meant a lot to me, personally, as a friend and colleague, and to the broader permaculture community. We love him, miss him, and will remember him and his impact for generations.
Though Dan and I had never met, we talked about getting the chance to, after becoming friends across the distance through numerous, long—and often late-night, for me—video calls. I remain heartbroken that he’s no longer with us and expect that feeling to stay with me for a long time.
Thank you for sharing this with us, David. I take comfort in your words, while still feeling lost as I try to find my own.
Scott,
In a few short years Dan must have become one of the most connected persons within permaculture and kindred networks. I don’t think I was aware of your friendship with him but of course it makes sense you being one of those network connectors.
In appreciation of your permaculture outreach and networking over the years.
David
