nararaNarara Eco Living Network is delighted to welcome David Holmgren and Nicole Foss, as a part of Survive and thrive, strategies for a changing economy to Narara Ecovilage, to open its inaugural Permaculture Gathering on June 29.

Narara Ecovillage  is an intentional community developing a leading-edge residential village at Narara on the Central Coast, NSW. The village has had the land for nearly 12 months and has made much progress with DA’s being lodged for the main Masterplan, with 33 blocks of land envisaged for Stage 1 residences and approval for a further 27 homes available in two groups of cluster houses.   It will blend the principles of ecological, social and economic sustainability; good health, business, caring and sharing and other options that may evolve for our well-being. The principles of permaculture will play a large part in our approach, and the Co-op has many permies who bring much wisdom and experience into the mix of people from all walks of life.

We welcome the opportunity and are very excited about showing you this beautiful 63 hectares that keeps over 90 species of birds very happy as well as much other wildlife and large conservation area. As a former horticultural research station there are also many and varied productive trees to see.

Entry for talks: $15/10 concess & NELN members

Please congtact Linda Scott on living@nararaecovillage.com.

Narara, we love you.

hi david. I tried to book in to your talk at Narara. I have not heard back from them. I know numbers are limited. I know you are also speaking in Newcastle but I have to put my son on a plane to see his dad for the holidays. I feel a bit annoyed that I have not had confirmation for my attendance from Narara. my family were part of the original settlers on the farming areas around mangrove mountain. the farming families that want to continue are few and far. I want to ignite a new spirit and different mentality amongst the new generation of kids that grew up on farms. it doesn’t have to be producing 20 thousand boxes a week any more. it is about sustaining the community with low miles for the product. the mountain area has so much potential but it needs to be reinvigorated with a purpose..
