Advanced Permaculture Planning + Design Process
April 3 @ 10:00 am - April 6 @ 4:30 pm$850 – $880
A 4-day residential course in Hepburn Springs
3 – 6th April 2018
Taught by David Holmgren, permaculture co-originator + Dan Palmer, co-founder of the Permablitz movement, director of VEG and author of Making Permaculture Stronger.
David has taught 3 and 4 day advanced principles and planning methods courses on home territory and around the world over the last 10 years.
This course builds on that lineage, to incorporate the most recent thinking by Holmgren and Palmer.
The motivation for this course comes from two creative sources:
• the ongoing discussions between David and Dan about the critical review and retrofit of permaculture design methods that has been the subject of Dan’s blog Making Permaculture Stronger and
• to provide an advanced residential school opportunity for the students enrolled in the online CQU post graduate diploma in permaculture design that David has been supporting and contributing to over the last couple of years.
Consequently this course provides an opportunity for those having completed a Permaculture Design Course, with a strong interest in permaculture principles, reading landscape, site and landscape planning and pattern language to join with those studying permaculture at the highest academic level. Everyone will have the opportunity to learn from, and with the permaculture co-originator on home territory, and one of the most innovative and influential second generation permaculture designers and teachers. Lived experience in permaculture and related work is as valuable a background as academic study and qualification for participants in this exciting opportunity for those in the permaculture community able to come to Hepburn in April 2018.
The course will be a mix of presentations and group work, including in the landscape, discussions and response to participant projects.

The course and camping will be at Hepburn Primary School 200m from Melliodora, the premier permaculture demonstration site of David Holmgren and Su Dennett.
Melliodora is not central to the course content but is accessible to the students over the four days for additional learning and inspiration.
The course including food and campsite is $850 per person.
Alternative accommodation in Daylesford/Hepburn is an option but the provided local seasonal food (much from Melliodora) is integral to the course.
